The Origins of Tae Kwon Do go back over
2000 years. It has become one of the most popular forms of Martial Arts and is
practiced by over 1000 million people worldwide. It is an ideal sport designed
to develop physical strength of the body and a sound spirit of the mind.
Within the past few decades it has gained remarkable popularity around the globe
due in part to its inclusion as a demonstration sport in the 1988
Olympic Games in Seoul
Korea and the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona Spain. In the 2000 Olympics held
in Sydney Australia, it was included as an official Olympic game.
